Our Pastor is Rev. Thomas Seabridge. Father Tom serves as Pastor of the Amador Catholic Community, comprising St. Patrick Parish (Jackson-Volcano-Pioneer), (Sutter Creek-Plymouth), and Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish (Ione).

Our Parochial Vicar is Fr Aldo Ranin. He was parochial vicar of Immaculate Conception Church in Downieville. We welcome Fr. Aldo to our Amador Family.

 

Outreach and Opportunities

 

 

Knights of Columbus Scholarship. The Amador County Council 1849, Knights of Columbus, has an annual Scholarship Award Program. It is the intent of the Council to grant one annual scholarship in the sum of $1000.00 to a qualified resident of Amador County, who is a practicing Catholic within Amador Catholic Community. This scholarship will be awarded during an open meeting of the Council in May of the current year and will be paid directly to the school of choice. The Young Men’s Institute, Council #137 is pleased to announce a $600 scholarship available to new and returning college students who are members of the Amador Catholic Community.The school may be vocational, two year, or four year.The format is essay, and the deadline to submit the essay is May 1, 2010.Essay topic, along with specific instructions may be obtained by contacting Tim Durkin via email (tedrch@gmail.com), U. “BREAKING BREAD WITH FRIENDS” is a home grown interfaith effort to feed the hungry and homeless by providing a breakfast and bag lunch to those in need every Saturday morning at the Jackson United Methodist Church.Volunteers are needed to serve one Saturday a month for approximately 2-3 hours. We also need volunteers to staff the various committees such as finance, communications, menu/shopping, scheduling, and to bake cookies and other bake goods to be included in the sack lunches.If you can help or are interested in learning more about the project contact Joe Lang at 296-3154, or email Marci Russell at mrussell@stpatparish.org

On-line Lenten Reflection series

The Lenten Reflection discussion board will be the first in a series of Virtual Small Christian Community and Virtual Bible study discussion boards for the Amador Catholic Community. The purpose of these discussion boards is to bring reflections and bible studies to everyone regardless of your schedule and availability.
Stay at home mom's and dad's can post thoughts during the day between loads of laundry, work-at-homes can post between e-mails, and working folks can post thoughts in the evening. In this way, we can all come together through our thoughts and Faith regardless of our life-styles. To check it out click on the link to the right. Catholics Come Home

is an invitation to non-practicing Catholics.If you are a Catholic who has been away from the Church for awhile and are thinking about returning, we welcome you home! CHANGES TO THE ROMAN MISSAL ON THE HORIZON.New translations of the Roman Missal are coming in late 2010 or 2011.The people's parts at Mass will change when the Holy See approves the new translation.The USCCB voted to approve the final sections of the English translation during the November 17 session of the Fall General Assembly; it now goes to the Vatican for approval, expected sometime in 2010.Implementation at the parish level will commence about a year following Vatican approval.Click here for a preview of the changes.
